Join us for a Pure Water LHTX Open House
Augmenting the Water Supplies of Our Growing Community
The City of Liberty Hill is moving forward with plans to develop and test direct potable reuse through advanced water purification to augment our current water supply. Pure Water LHTX will use advanced water purification technology to create a safe and reliable water source for generations to come.
Multi-barrier Treatment Process
The Advanced Water Purification process will produce purified water by removing contaminants, including organic and inorganic material, such as PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). The City will pilot test two proven multi-barrier treatment processes to determine which approach is best for our community. Robust water quality testing will be conducted throughout the pilot testing period to ensure the facility is producing water that meets or exceeds local, state, and federal drinking water standards.

Program Timeline
Liberty Hill has been developing a plan for Advanced Water Purification since 2024.
The first steps involve designing and building a pilot facility that will demonstrate Liberty Hill’s ability to produce high quality drinking water. All the water produced at the pilot facility will undergo extensive testing to ensure it meets all local, state, and federal drinking water standards.
Once completed, Liberty Hill will move forward with designing and building the full-scale advanced water purification facility. At the program’s completion, Liberty Hill could produce up to 5 million gallons of purified water per day to help create a safe, reliable and sustainable water supply for our community.
